Mō te tūnga | About the role:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Lifestyle Coordinator to lead and deliver engaging, kaumātua-centred activity programmes that enhance wellbeing, foster connection, and celebrate individuality. 

As our Lifestyle Coordinator, you’ll design and implement innovative programmes that support the physical, social, intellectual, and cultural needs of our kaumātua. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, whānau, and the wider community to create meaningful experiences that promote joy, purpose, and inclusion. 

Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, dementia-appropriate daily experiences that enhance the well being, independence, and enjoyment of our kaumātua. 
  • Create monthly and weekly plans that reflect each person’s cultural identity, interests, and abilities, in collaboration with whānau and the care team
  • Lead and coordinate group experiences and community outings, ensuring safety, participation, and meaningful engagement for all involved 
  • Communicate effectively with kaumātua, whānau, and team members, fostering strong relationships and ensuring everyone is informed and involved. 

Ngā pūkenga | What you will need to be successful:

  •  Experience supporting or working with the elderly, with a genuine passion for enriching their daily lives  
  •  Confidence in leading group experiences, managing timetables, and coordinating events and outings 
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with whānau, colleagues, and clinical teams in a supportive and respectful way
  •  A current full driver’s licence is essential, along with the confidence to drive a van for community-based activities and outings.
  •  Dementia LCP (Level 4), Health & Wellbeing (Level 4) or a Diversional Therapy qualification (preferred but not essential)
  •  A background in teaching or education would also be highly beneficial, particularly for those with experience in planning and delivering engaging learning or activity-based programmes
