Mō te tūnga | About the role: 

 We are offering a permanent part-time opportunity for a dedicated Level 4 Care Worker to join our team at Resthaven Village in Gore. Our facility provides a warm, welcoming environment where rest home, hospital, and respite care services are delivered with kindness, dignity, and respect. This role guarantees a minimum of 16 hours per week on a rotating roster, with 24/7 care support—meaning weekend shifts are included, and you can earn up to $4 more per hour for hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.

As a Level 4 Care Worker, you will not only support our residents by following individualised care plans under the guidance of our nursing team—you will also take on key team leadership responsibilities, helping to guide and support your colleagues to ensure high-quality, consistent care. This is a meaningful opportunity to step into a leadership role while making a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Ngā pūkenga | What you will need to be successful:

  • have at least a relevant qualification of Level 4 or higher level on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF)
  • compassion and passion for working with the elderly and deep-seated empathy and dedication to making a positive impact on their lives  
  • the ability to clearly and compassionately communicate with both residents, their families and your colleagues  
  • a positive, kind, and patient attitude

 Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities:

  • assisting our residents with their personal needs (including eating meals, hydration, maintaining skin integrity and personal hygiene) with the utmost respect and willingness 
  • encouraging our residents to interact and take part in our social activities, by promoting participation, enhancing their overall well-being and quality of life 
  • accurately recording observations 
  • maintaining an empathetic and kind approach towards residents and families, fostering a supportive environment that promotes trust and comfort
  • collaboration with colleagues by offering support and contributing to a team-oriented atmosphere, ensuring a caring, compassionate, and efficient work environment.
